DETAILED SERVER RULES

These set of rules apply to the entire server.

Purple colored rules break Discord's Guidelines and are mandatory for us to have.

Quote
01. Don't frequently bait or troll.
  • This mostly involves insults or arguments.
  • A joke is funny until the person tells you to stop.
  • A statement is only considered bait/trolling if a person has told them to stop beforehand at least once.
  • Spoiling something that someone has told you not to spoil is considered bait. Blatant spoiling, even when nobody told you not to, is also considered bait.
  • The mute function is intended for ignoring somebody, not for pissing them off. If you constantly tease the person you supposedly muted, it counts as bait. You can't use the mute function as a way to bait somebody.
  • If a new user joins the server and immediately breaks a rule, then they can be banned for a long period of time, even permanently in some cases. It can be safely assumed that the new user only wanted to raid-troll.
  • Do not share content that is found to be directly threatening someone's physical or financial state. Do not threaten to harm another person or someone related to another person in any capacity. Do not tell other people you will hurt or kill them. KYS is a stupid acronym, even sarcastically.
  • Do not share or link to content with intent to shame or degrade another individual.
02. Don't be a nuisance to our community.
  • Pissing multiple people off will eventually get you banned.
  • A person breaks this rule if 5+ people dislike them for repeated minor offenses.
  • Any problematic user can be vote-permabanned from the community for any reason a director sees fit so long as majority of council votes yes.
  • Organizing and participating in raids or other forms of harassment. Do not engage in or post content encouraging the harassment of individuals or communities.
  • Do not share or post graphic images for sadistic pleasure, glorification or celebration of violence.
  • Sharing content or promoting, in general, self-harm or suicide. Don't post content that promotes or glorifies self-harm or suicide. This includes any content that encourages others to: cut or injure themselves; embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders; or commit suicide rather than, for example, seeking counseling or treatment.
  • Don't do anything illegal on Discord. This is directly from Discord's Terms of Service. Discord will take immediate action if you: Violate any applicable laws or regulations, or promote or encourage any illegal activity including, but not limited to, hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit software, or cheats or hacks for our or another company or person's Service. Basically, don't post or post links to hacks/cracks/exploits in games/software.
  • Do not share or threaten to share personal information of another user - this includes but is not limited to home address, phone number, email, social security number, and photos. Respect other people's desire for privacy.
  • Do not distribute viruses or pirated software. Do not engage in or promote phishing activities. Do not threaten another user with digital harm including but not limited to viruses, hacking, and spying.

03. Don't abuse power.
  • As a member of council you need to be a director or have explicit permission from a director to create council votes.
  • After a server ban and a score reset, a director can create a vote to contest the score reset to see if it was completely necessary given the circumstances of the situation. If the vote passes majority-wise, then the user gets their previous points back. (Must have evidence provided of their points) This is to prevent staff from banning a user simply to get a higher score in the server rank, thus being abusive with their power.

04. Don't attempt to bend or go around these server rules.
  • This comes in with common sense. If you think it's wrong, don't do it.
  • Don't nitpick rules, especially if it's obvious you want to make a situation seem worse than it actually is.
  • Don't set your name to things that are meant to offend another user, or spam.
  • Impersonation of somebody's online identity within the Discord that they heavily use on multiple platforms including Discord such as Steam, Battle.Net, Skype, etc, that can be connected with a Discord account, is bannable. If you are caught doing this you can be banned upon administrative decision.
  • Don't set your room name (if you have one) to things that are meant to offend another user, or spam.
  • Lynching in any shape or form is not allowed. Whether it's lynch-muting, lynch-reporting, or lynch-trolling, you do not gather groups of people to participate in lynch-style rule bending. Anybody who participates in lynching is breaking this rule.
  • Do not create spam accounts for the sake of annoying users with requests or other tactics. Do not disguise yourself in attempt to contact someone who has blocked you.
  • Do not share content that violates another person's contractual, personal, intellectual property or other rights. Do not share or post links that violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

05. Don't advertise/promote anything related to other communities that aren't CaravanGaming.

These set of rules don't apply to user rooms, but still apply everywhere else.

Quote
06. Don't spam on purpose.
  • Being loud can count as spam.
  • The owner of a user room can classify spam in their own context.
  • No text/voice chat that consists of foreign languages aside from English are permitted. We are a primarily English Discord, so this is just spam to us. Some, if not none, of our users will understand foreign languages being used in conversation. Using foreign words here and there is understandable, however, the focus of your post should be phrased well enough for someone who knows only English to understand it.

07. Don't play music outside of the music rooms.
  • You may play music if everybody in the room is okay with it.
  • Don't play music when someone is already playing music.

08. Don't be disruptive in a public room.
  • If you're arguing, take it to another room. Debating is allowed. Debating is basically a less aggressive form of arguing where you are respectful to the opposing party's choices, but you are attempting to persuade them to your reasoning. If a debate is aggressive or disrespectful, it is not considered a debate and is instead considered an argument.
  • People who constantly interrupt people in public rooms are also breaking this rule.
  • If you're doing an activity in a public room and being severely disruptive towards the people in the room that aren't doing the same activity, you must leave the room and join a different room or a private room to avoid breaking this rule.
  • If you have somebody muted, don't constantly ask other users what that person is saying. This can be disturbing towards users within the channel, and if you want to know what the muted person is saying, you can unmute them.
09. Don't use voice changers or soundboards in public rooms.
  • Take it to your own room, unless everybody in the room is okay with it.

10. Any gore, animal cruelty, & shock material posted anywhere on the Discord is not permitted, with an exception to questionable gameplay imagery which should be answered by a @Council member.
  • Sharing illustrated pornography which depicts minors is not tolerated. (such as lolicon or shotacon) Do not share content related to minors that is sexually suggestive or violent. Do not share or post links to images that depict minors or underage individuals engaged in violent, sexually suggestive, shameful, or otherwise inappropriate situations.
  • Do not share or promote sharing of revenge porn.
  • Tags that should be used for special content are: Ear Rape (ER) a warning that something loud may be represented. Spoilers (SPOILERS) a warning that the link posted may spoil something.
